Advising

Due to the stricter requirements and complex schedules required of the student-athlete each student is assigned to an academic counselor according to their sport. Academic counselors perform a variety of functions which include:

• academic, personal, and career advising, assisting with class scheduling, and major selection
• the advisor confers with college advisors and faculty to track degree progress
• arranges for tutors and mentors
• monitors NCAA continuing eligibility regulations
• assist coaches with recruiting
